Hayoung Shin, Ph.D in Education, is a professor of College of General Education at Semyung University.
Dr. Shin received her bachelor and master’s degrees in English Language and Literature from Sookmyung Women’s University in Seoul, South Korea. She joined as graduate assistant at the Sookmyung Women’s University in 2011, studied doctoral program in the department of Education at the Graduate School of Liberal Arts and Social Science.
She worked as researcher on international affairs and Sookmyung Network for Open World(SNOW), as managing editor of Korea Institute of Child Care and Education, and doing her freelance translation work with many organizations and individual scholars including Korea International Trade Association.
Dr.Shin worked as a research professor at Research Institute at Sookmyung Women’s University, and was a research fellow at Seoul Foundation of Women and Family, from 2018–2020. As a policy resaercher of Seoul city government funded institute, she published research papers in education, employment, and labor issues through gender mainstreaming.
Hayoung started her volunteerism on open education since 2010 with Creative Commons, she did many voluntary works with Creative Commons Korea focusing on open educational resource, open access and open government area. Hayoung’s research interests focus on educational policy, social innovation, diversity issues, and gender maistreaming.
